Coronavirus relief grants have helped organizations in Iowa fund crucial job training. Recently, the State Center Police Department was able to train, educate, and fill a need for reserve officers with the grant assistance. In the end, 50 candidates will have successfully made it through the program. In some cases, these are communities with one active officer. Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds launched the Child Care Task Force to understand the issues facing child care providers in Iowa and help expand access to quality child care. Child care providers and advocates describe some of the barriers they face and explain how state funding is already helping them solve child care barriers in their community.
On March 10, Governor Kim Reynolds signed Executive Order 8, launching a new Child Care Task Force to develop a comprehensive strategy to address the child care shortage and barrier to work in Iowa. The governor also announced awardees of two child care grant programs totaling $13,053,372 and contributing to the creation of more than 4,000 new child care slots across Iowa.

Lakeside Village is a Senior Community Center in Panora, Iowa. With the help of the Coronavirus Relief Fund Employer Innovation Grant, the staff was able to receive certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant at a local CNA training center. Now they're able to better care for their senior citizens during the COVID-19 pandemic.
